Helnæs Sommerland

The shelter site at Helnæs Sommerland on the Helnæs peninsula is part of the shelter concept Blue Support Points, where you can spend the night in new modern coastal shelters all around Funen.

The shelter site with two 5-person shelters is 15 m above sea level with a fantastic view.

The shelters must be booked at [www.bookenshelter.dk](https://bookenshelter.dk/fyn/shelterplads/helnaes-sommerland/), and it costs DKK 30/person/overnight. There is room for 4 people in each of the two shelters - 5 if one wants to lie on the floor.

Assens Municipality's [badevandskontrol](https://www.assens.dk/vaer-aktiv/ud-i-naturen/strande-og-badevand/helnaes-sommerland/) for the beach at the nearby summer house area, shows that the quality of the bathing water is top notch.

There is a fire pit with fire ring and fire benches. There is no firewood on the site, so you must bring it yourself if you want a fire. Of course, trees and bushes must not be felled or cut on the site.

There is a toilet with running water in the brick building 50 m from the site. Smaller amounts of water can be drained from the sink faucet. The toilet can only be used by the shelter users, who are given an access code when ordering the shelter.

In the building there is also a small living room with a table and some chairs.

One half of each shelter is divided into floors, so that two can sleep upstairs and two downstairs. A fifth person can lie on the floor in the second half of the shelter.

The shelter has lots of doors, shutters and windows, so in good weather you can get lots of light and air. In bad weather, the shelter can be closed almost completely. However, there is one opening that cannot be closed. It is a requirement that a shelter *must* have at least one permanent opening. Remember to close all doors and windows when leaving the shelter.
