Shelter
Shelterplads i Åbo Skov
The shelters belong to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via [Book Naturen](https://booknaturen.aarhuskommune.dk/sted/shelterplads-i-aabo-skov/?s1=3012&s2=20/01/2026)
The two shelters are built on a small hilltop with a beautiful view of Åbo Skov and Harlev Church. A path system makes it possible to get around the newly planted forest. The forest is located in Aarhus Ådal and is part of a fine recreational and landscaped whole with connecting lines to the area around Årslev Engsø. At the bottom of the river valley, in the middle of the forest, several small waterholes have been created. At the shelter site, a campfire site, a covered dining area and hammocks have been established. There is also a tent pitching site.
**Practical information**:
• When you book the shelter, you have automatically booked the associated campfire site.
• You must bring your own firewood from home.
• You are allowed to collect dry branches in the forest floor.
• There is a primitive forest toilet and a water tap close to the shelters.
• There is room for a maximum of 8 people in each shelter.
