FDF Grindhøj area offers 2 brand new shelters for 4-5 people, the shelters are free to use.

There is an attached compost toilet.

The area is located on the outskirts of Grenaa inside a small forest close to the beach and 800 meters from the hiking route Djurslandsstien.

If it is quiet in the evening and morning hours, there is a possibility of seeing fallow deer, foxes and bats.

The compost toilet is locked but there is a sign with how to get the code to the compost toilet.

There is no drinking water on the site but Rema 1000 is less than 600 meters from the area.

You may collect firewood in the forest floor, but no trees may be cut down.

**Shelter site at FDF Grindhøj – Overnight stay in nature close to town**

On the edge of Grenaa, tucked away in a small forest close to the beach, you will find FDF Grindhøj’s cozy shelter site “Pletten”. Here are two brand new shelters, each with space for 4-5 people – and they are free to use.

**Facilities:**

2 shelters with space for overnight stay

Cement toilet (locked – see signs at the site for opening)

Possibility to collect firewood from the forest floor (felling prohibited)

Close to Rema 1000 (under 600 meters)

800 meters to Djurslandsstien (hiking route)

**Nature around:**

The area is quiet, especially in the early morning hours and in the evening. Here there is a good chance of experiencing wildlife such as fallow deer, foxes and bats. This makes the place perfect for both overnight stay, nature experiences and outdoor education.

**Practical info:**

There is no drinking water on the site, so remember to bring your own water or provisions – Rema 1000 is within walking distance.

The compost toilet is locked, but there are clear signs showing how to get the code.

The shelters cannot be booked, and FDF Grindhøj has first right to the area.

Every Monday evening there are FDF activities on the site.

You cannot drive to the site by car, parking is at Børenhaven Stjernehuset on Skolebakken, 8500 Grenaa, from there it is 200 meters to the site.
