Shelterplads ved Egå Engsø - to sheltere (IV og V)

The shelter site was built with inspiration from the Stone Age and consists of five shelters, numbered I, II, III, IV and V, which are located in a cozy semicircle, facing the campfire site and with a beautiful view of Egå Engsø.

In front of the shelters is a shared campfire site.

Shelter V has a lift system and allows for greater accessibility. You can bring your own lifting sling, or you can borrow one from Aarhus Municipality.

If you wish to borrow a lifting sling from Aarhus Municipality, please send an email to 10 days before your trip. You will then receive information about where and when you can pick up and return the sail.

**Please note that the campfire site is shared with other users.**

Around the shelter site, an exciting adventure trail winds through small tree stands. Along the way, you will encounter beautiful wooden animal sculptures that depict animals that a Stone Age person might have encountered in the forests.

The vegetation around the site consists of, among other things, edible fruits, nuts and berries that reflect what people ate in the Stone Age.

**Practical information**:

• You must bring your own firewood from home.

• You are welcome to collect dry branches from the forest floor.

• There are waste racks at the shelter site.

• There is a primitive forest toilet in the planting behind the shelters.

• There is no water at the site.

**Directions**:

There is an entrance to Egå Engsø from Viengevej – there is a Swedish red sign at the entrance. From the parking lot, follow the path along the lake and you will arrive at the site after approx. 700 meters.

It takes approx. 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the shelter site. Parking must be done at the parking lot.
