Shelters ved Julsø

Two shelters on the tent pitch which lies down to the beach at Julsø.

One shelter (to the right of the bridge in the square with a view of the lake, table-bench set etc.) can be booked in advance on this page, the other shelter (to the left of the bridge) can be used on a "first come, first served" basis.

There is space for approx. six overnighters in each shelter. There is a table bench set, fire pit, grill and litter racks. There is no drinking water, and no firewood is supplied to the fire pits. Wood must be brought or collected in small quantities from the forest floor. It is not permitted to saw or break branches of the trees.

Hiking routes: The hiking route 'Aarhus-Silkeborg' and the 'Himmelbjerruten' (red route) pass close by the square. The 'Lynghede tour' runs from Himmelbjerg tower and P1 car park at Himmelbjerget past the square.

Waterway: The route boats dock at Hotel Julsø. From here there is approx. 1 km walk to the square. There is a small jetty at the square.

No driving to the site. The nearest parking option is at the end of Julsøvej. Follow the arrows to Hotel Julsø. There are approx. 800 m walk from the car park to the shelter site on a gravel road. The last 100 m is on a footpath.
