The site is located a little inside the Himmerlandsstien and close to Lerkenfeldt Å. The ice age created the landscape in Himmerland as we know it today – a moraine landscape with tundras, marshes and swamps, hills and valleys. During the Ice Age, the meltwater formed rivers, lakes, fjords and inlets. Lerkenfeld Ådal emerged from the melting ice and became a fjord arm in the middle of the beautiful West Himmerland landscape.
