Tranum Klitplantage - Ajs Holes Plads

There are two shelters, each with space for approx. 6 people, fire pit with grill grate, drinking water (summer), mud toilet and an old work van with tiled stove, where you can seek shelter in rain or cold (but not overnight). It is hoped that there will be firewood, but this cannot be guaranteed. You are welcome to set up tents and collect wood in the forest floor. The place cannot be booked. Move together so there is room for more people and keep the space neat and clean. Take your waste with you, the site is next to the forest road Overklitvej adjacent to the Vestky route (National cycle route no. 1). Cars may NOT be driven into the site. You can park in the car park on Sandmosevej by the forest road Overklitvej - 1.8 km., on Rødhusvej by the forest road Kanalvej - 1.5 km or in the car park at the end of the public forest roads Den Grønne Vej / Skovens Hovedvej - 1.5 km. Here you are really far away from everything, from dark night skies to stargazing and the roar of hornbills in autumn. If there are more of you sharing the space, respect that many come here to have an intense nature experience - so avoid noise.
