Lavringe shelterplads

In the historic landscape at Lejre, two shelters are located on a headland surrounded by Lavringe Å. The shelters do not look like ordinary shelters – they rise towards the sky like the prow of a Viking ship.

The two architect-designed shelters were designed by NORRØN and built by National Park Skjoldungernes Land in collaboration with the local food association Lavringe Jord and Lejre Municipality and with support from the Nordea Foundation. The shelters are located at two iconic routes – the cycling route, the Istidsruten, and the 46 kilometer long hiking route, the Skjoldungestien.

In addition to inspiring more people to spend the night outside, the shelters' unique expression must also mark the national park's fabled past with the Viking ship as inspiration.

Everyone is welcome to visit the shelter site, where, in addition to shelters, there is a fire pit, mud toilet and equipment bank for schools and kindergartens.

**Parking**

It is not possible to park at the site. The nearest parking is in Allerslev - eg at the town hall.
