Avnstrup shelteren

Avnstrup shelteren

Large, handicap-friendly shelter with a built-in fire pit, located on the edge of the forest with a view of the forest and the large grassy areas. The fire pit has a good fireplace with a grill and benches around the walls. The benches are designed so that it is possible to drive up with a wheelchair. The sleeping part of the shelter is equipped with 2 rails in the ceiling so that it is possible for people with reduced mobility to enter the sleeping areas. You must bring your own sling for the rail system. The shelter floor is also equipped with an extra plate at the opening for transferring from a wheelchair to the shelter floor. There are also brackets installed inside the shelter building so that you can set up hammocks. The sleeping areas are for 10-12 people.

The access road is from the Danish Nature Agency's large parking lot just after the Avnstrupcentret. The path to the shelters is at least 1 wide and solid. There is a disabled toilet at the parking lot, as well as the possibility of taking water. However, the water and access to the toilet are only open in the summer. Tents are not allowed on the site. The shelters have been built in collaboration with Save the Children.

**The site can be booked for a maximum of 2 days, can only be reserved 3 months in advance.**
