Shelter
Shelterplads i Grevinge Skov
In Grevinge Skov there is a shelter with a campfire site with a grill. The shelter is located in a clearing in the forest, where a house used to stand. The shelter can accommodate about four people. The shelter must be booked, which can be done three months in advance, and for a maximum of two days at a time. The shelter is located in a free camping forest, which means that tents can be pitched next to the shelter and elsewhere in the forest. The rules for pitching tents are that you are only allowed to spend one night at the same place, you can pitch a maximum of two tents at the same place and the tents can accommodate a maximum of three people.
There is no water tap at the shelter. There is a small primitive toilet, without running water, about 30 meters from the shelter. This toilet is the only toilet in the forest. You must bring your own toilet paper. You must also bring your own firewood. Campfires are only allowed at officially established campfire sites in front of the shelter.
When arriving by car, the nearest parking lot is on Birketvej just as you enter Grevinge Skov from the south. From here it is approx. 200 meters from the parking lot to the shelter area along a gravel path or trampled track. The shelter is also located in connection with the regional bicycle route Gravhøjsruten
Access to the shelter is via a gravel road, grass and dirt path. The shelter is designed with a transfer plateau for wheelchair users, but the wheelchair must be off-road capable to get to the shelter.
There are no waste containers at the shelters or the campfire hut, so what you bring on the trip, you must also take home.
The shelter was built with support from the A.P. Møller Foundation.
