Himmelsøen, Markfirbenet

Himmelsøen and its surroundings are a former gravel mining area that has been converted into a nature and outdoor area. Everyone is welcome to spend the night in the three shelters located by the lake. There is also a fire pit table-bench set and a toilet building nearby. The Himmelsø area is part of Milen, Roskilde's suburban leisure and cultural landscape. The area has a rich birdlife, and there are hiking, cycling and riding trails around the lake, as well as facilities such as a beach and. Fishing is allowed in parts of the lake. Parking is available nearby, and there is disabled parking close to the shelters and the bathing beach.
