Shelterplads Himmelev Skov

In Himmelev Skov there are two shelters next to each other, each with its own campfire site with grill and table and bench set. The shelters are located in a small spruce forest not far from Himmelev Bæk, and southeast of Nævlinge Sø. The shelters must be booked and are aimed at groups of approximately eight to ten people in total, four/six in each shelter. When you book the shelter site, you book both shelters. You are not allowed to pitch a tent next to the shelters.

There is a small primitive toilet 50 meters north of the shelters, without running water. Remember to bring toilet paper. There is no water on the site, you must bring your own. You must also bring your own firewood.

When arriving by car, the nearest parking lot is on Store Valbyvej (in Google Maps indicated as "Parking - Himmelev Skov - Store Valbyvej"). From here it is 2.3 km. by bike or on foot along a gravel path and trampled tracks to the shelter site. It is not possible to drive to the shelters to unload equipment, or to park close to them. The paths to the shelter site and the shelter site itself are not accessible to people in wheelchairs as the terrain is very variable, uneven and can be damp.

There are no waste containers at the shelters, you must also take what you bring home with you.

The site can only be booked three months in advance, and a maximum of two days at a time.

Slight noise from a nearby windmill may occur.
