Verninge Mose Shelterplads

Verninge Mose Shelterplads

The shelter was built by the Citizens' Association for Verninge and Surroundings on a meadow, from which there is a good view over the new exciting nature area, Verninge Mose.

You will find Verninge Mose on 13.8 hectares and Åsemosen on 62 hectares at Verninge. Here, Assens Municipality, in close cooperation with the landowners in the area, has created a unique natural pearl, which also aims to reduce the discharge of nitrogen into our coastal waters.

The shelter stands next to a viewing platform with a table/bench set.

There are several marked walking routes in both Verninge Mose and in Åsemosen with their exciting bird and plant life.

To keep the area open to light, it is grazed by cattle that can go out all year round. With their thick fur, they are well protected against cold, wind and rain. Cattle are good for nature care, as they gently graze the area.

Everyone can use the shelter. The area is privately owned, and the shelter is run by the citizens' association.
