shelter. The distance from the proposed parking lot to the hut is almost exactly 1km. The Curt Brand hut was rebuilt in 2009. The previous hut at this point was built in the 1970s, at that time still under the name "Hütte am Katzenbacherpfad". However, the ravages of time had gnawed at the simple forest hut so severely that a new building was unavoidable. In 1981, one year before the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Odenwald Club, the Eberbach local group applied to dedicate the hut to its honorary chairman, Curt Brand. A year later, that wish came true. Brand was born in Hockenheim in 1904 and died on April 6, 1984 at the age of 80 in Eberbach. He was a member of the OWK from 1927 until his death. In summer the last few meters could be heavily overgrown.
