At the Hainach trekking site you can literally say goodbye to the city and immerse yourself in nature. Civilization lies at your feet in the valley, turn around and you will find yourself in untouched nature. The black stork also feels at home here. Just 100 years ago it was considered extinct in Bavaria. Today its impressive nests can be found in the forest again, albeit very sporadically. It lays its nests, which weigh several hundredweight, mainly on old trees with strong branches: often near the forest road, but always hidden from view. Like the white stork, the black stork is a migratory bird that returns to its eyrie every year to repair it. If you find a black stork nest in the forest, this area will no longer be farmed. Construction has begun at the Hainach trekking site, which is modeled on a large "black stork nest" and which is waiting to be tended to by visitors to the trekking site.
