67098 - Laurahütte

In 1845, the pensioner Wilhelm Retzer from Freinsheim had a stone shelter built in his 80-day Leistadt forest area.

The three columns installed at the entrance give this building the character of a small hall.

In honor of his wife Laura née Schleicher, the hut received this name.

Wilh died in 1856. Retzer.

The forest was auctioned off on behalf of the heirs and passed to 30 citizens of Leistadt.

The Laura hut itself was probably entrusted to the care of the Drachenfels Club around 1875.

It is located on the hiking trail "Historischer Rundwanderweg Leistadt". Hiking maps are available at the Tourist Information Bad Dürkheim.
